Scheduling Please submit all materials by the date agreed upon during scheduling. This is usually the day before the edit is scheduled to begin. If you’re unable to submit by the specified date, please let me know at least forty-eight hours ahead of time, but this may cause a delay in my edits as well. If I need more time to complete the edit, I will let you know at least forty-eight hours before the due date.
For projects over $500, I will provide an editing contract for us both to sign. Scheduling is complete upon receipt of the nonrefundable deposit and either the signed contract or your agreement to the terms.
Payment Payment is accepted via PayPal, and a 10 percent nonrefundable deposit is due when you schedule. This will be deducted from the total editing fee.
For projects with fees of $500 or less, the entire fee is due when you submit the manuscript for editing. For all other projects where a single editing service is purchased, half of the total fee is due when you submit the manuscript for editing, and the other half is due upon completion of the edit but before the editor returns the manuscript. For editing packages, half of the total fee is due when you submit the manuscript for the first editing pass, and the other half is due when you submit the manuscript for the second editing pass. You may also pay the whole fee up front if you prefer.
Payment plans and payment by cashier’s check are available on a case-by-case basis. If an editing package is purchased and there is a significant increase in the word count after the first editing pass, the second payment will be adjusted to cover the cost of the increase.
Please note that there is a $30.00 minimum for all services. Rush jobs are subject to an additional fee.
Formatting Please submit all documents for editing as Microsoft Word attachments (DOCX or DOC). Word or PDF attachments may be submitted for manuscript critiques only. Please use standard formatting: one-inch margins, double spacing, and 12-point Times New Roman.
Additional Information I will edit the manuscript one time only. If a follow-up edit is requested, I will have to evaluate the revised manuscript to see how much work is needed before I quote a fee.
I’m happy to explain my changes and suggestions and to answer any questions you have. I want you to be completely satisfied with my work, and I’ll do whatever is reasonably possible to make that happen. I reserve the right to refuse work.
