- I address issues concerning plot, characterization, conflict/tension, dialogue, world building, structure, description, setting, emotion, showing/telling, pacing, point of view, voice, consistency, overwriting/underwriting, etc.
- You will receive a comprehensive, lengthy editorial report outlining your book’s strengths and weaknesses as well as detailed suggestions for improvement. Extensive comments will also be included in the manuscript using Microsoft Word’s comment feature.
- A one-hour video or phone consultation call is included upon completion of the edit.
- *Margin comments only can be added at a reduced rate for manuscripts that have already had a critique. Please ask for details.
Line Editing & Copyediting

- I address issues concerning writing style/craft, sentence/paragraph structure, word choice, repetition, arrangement, transitions, wordiness, active/passive voice, clichés, awkward phrasing, clarity, flow, readability, spelling, grammar, punctuation, capitalization, typos, spacing, continuity errors/inconsistencies, etc.
- These changes are done in the manuscript using Microsoft Word’s Track Changes.
Copyediting
Starting at $0.015 per word
- I address issues concerning spelling, grammar, punctuation, capitalization, typos, repetition, spacing, word choice, continuity errors/inconsistencies, etc.
- These changes are done in the manuscript using Microsoft Word’s Track Changes.
Proofreading
Starting at $0.011 per word
- I address issues concerning spelling, grammar, punctuation, typos, etc.
- These changes are done in the manuscript using Microsoft Word’s Track Changes.
- This should be the final pass before the manuscript is published.
Manuscript Critique
Starting at $0.01 per word
- I will read your manuscript and provide you with a written assessment of its strengths and weaknesses as well as address any specific concerns you have.
- A thirty-minute video or phone consultation call is included upon completion of the critique.
- This service does not include comments in the manuscript.
- This is more comprehensive than a beta read but less detailed than a full content/developmental edit.
Reread Report
$0.0075 per word flat rate
- This is available after a content/developmental edit or a manuscript critique. It includes feedback on revisions and suggestions for moving forward.
- This service does not include comments in the manuscript.
- A consultation call is not included, but a thirty-minute call can be added for $30.00.
Query Letter Critique
$30.00 flat rate
- This includes a full edit and critique of your query letter and one round of feedback on your revisions.
- It should be one page only with standard formatting:
- One-inch margins, single spacing, 12-pt. Times New Roman
Synopsis Critique
$40.00 flat rate
- This includes a full line edit and critique of your one- to two-page synopsis and one round of feedback on your revisions.
- Please use standard formatting:
- One-inch margins, 12-pt. Times New Roman, single spacing for one page or double spacing for two pages
Submission Package Edit
$105.00 flat rate
- This includes a comprehensive edit and critique of your query letter, one- to two-page synopsis, and first ten pages.
- Also included is one round of feedback on your query letter and synopsis revisions.
- Please use standard formatting for all materials:
- Query letter: one page, one-inch margins, single spacing, 12-pt. Times New Roman
- Synopsis: one-inch margins, 12-pt. Times New Roman, single spacing for one page or double spacing for two pages
- First ten pages: one-inch margins, double spacing, 12-pt. Times New Roman
