Editing Services:
Developmental/Content Editing – $1.50 per single-sided, double-spaced page*
- This service is for fiction and popular non-fiction. (Examples: novels, short story collections, biographies, memoirs, children’s books, self-help, travel, etc.)
- Addressed are issues concerning plot, characterization, description, language, readability, organization, dialogue, consistency, etc.
- Proofreading/line editing is not included, although major typos will be corrected.
Proofreading/Line Editing – $1.50 per single-sided, double-spaced page*
- This service is for any type of writing.
- Addressed are issues concerning spelling and grammatical errors, punctuation, typos, repetition, spacing, formatting, etc.
- This service may be included for free with the developmental/content editing service, if I deem the writing to be technically competent (based on a writing sample). However, if I feel that the document needs significant proofreading, both development/content editing and proofreading/line editing must be purchased for both services to be performed.
Academic/Business Editing – $2.00 per single-sided, double-spaced page*
- This service is for academic and business writing. (Examples: textbooks, college dissertations/theses, research papers, essays, business proposals, etc.)
- Addressed are issues concerning content and language, as well as proofreading/line editing.
* One single-sided, double-spaced page is approximately 250 words.
Additional Services:
Manuscript Typing – $1.00-$1.50 per page ($10.00 minimum charge)
- Fee is determined based on the quality and readability of the document.
- Once I have typed the document, I will e-mail the file to you. If you choose, I can also mail you the typed file on a CD. However, if you want a hard, typed copy mailed to you, an additional shipping charge will apply.
Indexing – $20.00 - $100.00
- Fee is determined based on the number of terms and the complexity of the index format.
